Hello Michelle,

Your understanding is incorrect I’m afraid.  The hotel has not been in touch with me.  This is not surprising, as based on my experience, they would fail to execute even the simplest solution to any problem.

I would say my status right now is “unsatisfied” to “very unsatisfied”.

Cheers,

Reinyl,

When you say the hotel is "investigating the matter", do you mean they are conducting interviews and searching for clues?  Are there still Hotel Detectives?  If so, I would be very interested in becoming involved in your program there.  I have a vision of myself in a trench coat lurking in the lobby, keeping my ear open.  I think I would be quite good at "nosing around" in solving crimes on the grounds as I was a voracious reader of the "Encyclopedia Brown" series of True Crime novellas as a boy.  While this wouldn't adhere to your more stringent training standards, I think it would give me a good leg up on other potential hotel detective candidates in your system.  With practice I think I could develop a believable Jack Webb/Dragnet cadance when interviewing "perps" while on a case.  Example:  "Listen Johnson, I know guys like you...  Guys that think they can throw the law out the window when they check into the Hilton Rockville Executive Hotel and get their kicks...  Maybe you are into uppers... downers... goof balls...  mary jane... I don't know and frankly I don't care...  Let me tell you this Joy Boy...  When you are under this roof, I'm the law!  I ask the questions and you give me the answers!  Now...  Where is the missing bathrobe?"

If you could put in a good word for me, I would appreciate it.  Would I reach out to Hilton CEO Chris Nassetta directly?

In regards to my case...  Granted, I am not yet a full fledged Hotel Detective, but I think you can see I have a real knack for it.  That being said, I am not yet an expert in "hotel investigatory procedures", but this seems to be, in the parlance of hotel law enforcement, an "open and shut case".  If you need me to speak with someone directly, obviously with full discretion, I will be happy to do so.  After all, we are almost co-workers at this point.  Let me know the next steps.

Have a great Thanksgiving Reinyl!

Greg
